Cuttin' Up - Book It

With the kids going back to school. I thought I'd show you what can be done to composition books to make them fun! I started out by covering the book with paper from then I used my big punch and put holes in the front and the back of the book. I used the Disney Happily Ever After cartridge and cut out Snow White at 4 3/4". This was a lot of fun putting together. I also used Plantin SchoolBook cartridge for the letters. To finish it off you can add gramets to the holes.  Then thread the grossgrain ribbon in and out of the holes to hold the pen and tie it shut!  HUGS!

Cuttin' Up! - Acrylic

I wanted to make a little purse to hold chocolates with the acetate.  I wasn't quite sure if it would work, as I have never cut acetate with the Cricut before.  All I can say is WOW!  I loved it! I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge and set the size to 4 3/4".  I had the cutting blade set at 6 and used the muti-cut option to have it go over it twice.  It was wonderful.  The purse popped right out with no problems.  This handy dandy little cartridge is on the retired list, so be sure to grab one while you can!!! It's one of my favorites :) I then ran the flap of the purse though the Cuttlebug with the Daisy Flower folder.  To highlight the little flowers I used Painters markers by Elmer's, then added little plastic beads for the handle and a paper flower to top it off.  Add the yummy chocolates morsels and we are off for girls' night out!

Be Inspired #96

This weeks challenge was to create with Acetate. I used a clear sheet and made my little Baby welcome card. The inside is cuttlebuged with swiss dots on the debossing side and then used the baby carriage  from the stamp collection. Added a few stickers. What cute card it made.

Christmas Around The Clock

For my Challenge I decided to make a can of Santa Soup. You use a 15 oz can that has a pull top lid. Cut off the lid using a “safe-top” can opener, or you can just use a can of soup. Wrap you design around the can and tape it on. I made the tag with red and green cardstock, running them through the Cuttlebug with the swiss dot folder. Topping it off with ribbon and seasonal stickers. Here’s the poem by Pam Ridenour: Santa’s been so busy, he’s had no time to eat. And Mrs. Claus got worried, so she made a special treat. She took his favorite things, and put them in a pot. She added magic elf dust, and heated it ‘til hot. Santa loved it so much, he finished the whole pan. So Mrs. Claus made more, and put it in this can. Since Santa thought it was yummy, she thought that you might too. So she asked dear old sweet Santa, to leave a can for you! The tag has on it: Contents 2 pkg Hot Chocolate 2 Peppermint Sticks 4 Hershey Kisses Marshmallows YOUR CHALLENGE: Create your own version...

This weeks challenge is to make a Easel Card.  I used Mind's Eye paper out of the Quite Contrary series.  It is so fun to make a card that will pop up when the receiver open it's.

Wedding Affaire Lamp Shade

For our big Wedding Affaire on Cuttlebug Challenge Blogspot   I chose to make Crystal Goblet Lamp Shades. I first made the pattern in the shape and length that I want the shade to be. I used velumn to for the shade it self. To hold the ends of the shade together I used Tear-ific tape. It really holds well. Using the heart Cuttlebug Folder I dry embossed the heart in the middle of the shade. I made the cross hatch with using the pergamano technique. The K is cut out of Core'dinations gemstone with the Jasmine cartridge. I sanded the K to give it a softer look. The cute little butterflies are cut out of the Core'dinations pearls paper. I used the MS Pop Up Butterfly punch. They are the "cast off" pieces which left me a wonderful border for latter use. (LOL) I found this wonderful lace with pearls weaved through it at Joann's in the material section. Using the Tear-ific tape I laid it all a long the bottom of the shade then placed the lace over tape. I then cut the...

Be Inspired #87 Paint

This week challenge was to use paint.  I had so much fun with this one.  I used a cardboard container that held my favorite beverage!  I painted it with white acrylic paint.  It took about four coats to cover the red on the box.  The boarder was made with the MS punch.  The cute little image is from Dustin Pike.  I colored it using Bic Markers.  The wooden frame is the die cut and embossing folder for the Cuttlebug .  Then to top everything off I used the wooden cut on the Pooh Font cartridge.  I can hardly wait for our picnic!
